In Earth Laughs In Flowers is an exhibition of 10 large scale photographs by LaChapelle, who has gone back to basics and looked to traditional Baroque still nature for inspiration. LaChapelle of course brings his own pop culture vision to the table and alongside the traditional staple marks of still nature (fruits, flowers and skulls), he includes everyday objects such as cell phones, cigarette butts, balloons, Barbies and medicines. The Real-life Ukranian Barbie doll known as Valeria Lukyanova, she made herself a “human Barbie doll” Lukyanova goes viral on the internet where hundreds of photos are now uploaded in different social networking site. We could write an 800 pages long essay about how symbols are losing their simbolic qualities in order to become literal. But we prefer to share just a pic, a "walkthrough" video and all our concern.
